Virginia is home to a total of 112 Title IV degree-granting institutions (accredited institutions). All accredited Virginia colleges and universities have been in business for at least two years, they have signed a participation agreement with the U.S. Department of Education to participate in Title IV federal financial-aid programs, and they offer an associates degree or higher. Just a few of the state’s oldest and top ranked institutions include the University of Virginia, Virginia Tech, College of William and Mary, Virginia Commonwealth University, and George Mason University.
